Getting The Most From Your Home Stereo

There have been many advances in home sound-systems over the years. From the days of all crowding around the radio to catch the odd note, to blasting out tunes that can cause earthquakes. Making your ears bleed is not the be all and end all however, and there is more of an emphasis on quality and usability these days. So what are the most important developments and gadgets in modern home sound provision?

Wireless Speakers.Whilst wireless speakers have been around for a while now, they have only quite recently been produced to a quality that matches those with wires. Wireless speakers enable you to play music wherever in the house and garden, without being restrained by wires. This makes them ideal for parties where everyone can listen to the same music, despite where they are in the house or garden.

Advanced Sub Woofers. These are basically add-ons to a sound system that provide large amounts of base. It has previously been that case that the larger the sub-woofer, the larger the base that it can produce, which has always been an issue for car owners who have wanted their vehicles to sound like a live concert in happening inside.Super sub woofers however, cleverly provide equal amounts of base power, but are greatly reduced in size, meaning they fit nicely into the corner of any room…or car for that matter. If you are brave, you could even hook one up to your stereo and use it as a very effective alarm clock.

Surround Sound.  No true music fan can go back to listening to mono sound once they have experienced surround sound.Surround sound was first brought to us by a company called ‘Polk Audio’ back in the 80’s and works by projected different elements of a sound from various speakers placed around a room. The sound then combines in the middle of the room to give an unmatched audio sensation.Like wireless speakers, surround sound is nothing new, but still a very small percentage of people actually take advantage of this amazing technology.

Picking a Sound System

If you are a singer or a pastor who often stands and speaks in front of a sea of faces, it is essentially important to consider having the appropriate quality of an ideal sound system. Large groups of people could mean more chaos, more unwanted conversations, more ears to manage. Henceforth, to be able to let each and every one to hear what you are saying, you must have a good pa system that will give your words or lyrics more clarity, power, and depth. It is also important that you are hearing yourself well as much as they are hearing you.

A lot of people think that simpler sound systems are better, particularly if you do not have the budget to hire an av technician. This is not always the case, however. Straightforward PA systems are good for parties in your friends basement, but by investing a little bit of money in a multi-speaker surround sound system, you can really take things to the next level. This is especially true if you are going to have multiple musicians playing at the same time. With a big band, sound monitors are almost a necessity. Without them, no one will hear any one else playing, and the sound will be muddled and unclear.

Of course, bigger is not always better with your sound system. Sometimes, a single small tube amp speaker will cut it better than a big PA. If you are playing dirty, crunchy rock with a 3 piece band, this can be the best choice. There are times when high fidelity is not where it’s at . For times like that, a small sound system will take you where you want to be. You do not need a lot of power, or a lot of clarity  just a peddle, a mic, and some screaming tubes!

So depending on the event and location, one must choose the proper PA system. In churches, the sound must be delivered in a less trebly tone and everything to be in striking a perfect balance. So don’t commit the mistake just by settling for any kind of sound system there is without analyzing what the needs of the event are.
