These days, one of the most popular resources guitar students can call upon are video guitar lessons. As more and more people take up the guitar and try to learn how they can play it without having to offer up hundreds of dollars in lesson fees, they are finding that guitar video lessons are a great way to replace an instructor and augment a book or piece of software that goes along with your guitar practices.

To read a review of a fantastic guitar course that includes loads of great video lessons visit Jamorama Review

What You Can Get From Video Guitar Lessons

The right videos are going to provide a method of viewing your guitar playing that is different than anything you’ve ever done before. Using books, and other traditional methods of learning, is all very well and good, but you can’t be sure that you are doing things right. With a guitar video lesson, you’ll see exactly how a professional plays the notes, and if there are any mistakes you might be making.

Various Types of Video Guitar Lessons

Guitar video lessons are available covering an enormous range of guitar playing topics and skill levels. For people who’ve never played the guitar before, videos teaching how to properly hold the guitar, and how to play simple chords, are most appropriate.

For intermediate players, there are videos teaching how to play scales and simple lead guitar techniques, for example. You might also want to watch videos teaching music theory, and how to read music notation, to take your overall musicianship even further.

For more advanced guitarists, there are videos that look more in depth at improvisation, and music theory, as well as cover advanced lead techniques, like legato, and tapping.

Getting the Most Out of Video Guitar Lessons

In the end, the right guitar video lessons are going to be extremely effective in providing someone learning guitar with a friendly face and a skilled teacher who can show you how to play a note, chord, or song that might be giving you difficulty. Whilst it’s not quite as good as having your own private tutor, who can point out mistakes and things you’re doing wrong, it is the next best thing, and if you pay close attention, and follow along exactly as you’re shown, you should be able to avoid getting things wrong far more than you would simply reading from a book.

Regardless of the quality of videos you find, you’re going to have to practice regularly if you want to get good. This means spending at least 20 minutes a day watching the videos and making sure that you don’t progress to harder content until you have mastered the current video’s lessons. To get the most out of using video guitar lessons, you’ll have to use them the way they’ were intended, and follow exactly what the teacher is showing you. If you can do this though, you can be sure that your guitar playing skills will increase dramatically.

If you want to learn to play the guitar one approach is to hire a private teacher and have lessons. This approach is perfectly valid, but there is another way. You can teach yourself to play the guitar. This article will address some of the ways you can do this, and explain exactly what you need to do when teaching yourself guitar.

When you start learning the guitar it is a good idea to give yourself something to work towards. By setting yourself targets, you’ll find that you wont feel so inundated with all the new things you’ll be learning, and you can concentrate more on areas of weakness. It is a good idea to figure out what you want to achieve when teaching yourself guitar – do you want to play in a band, or write you own music, for example? By setting out objectives like these you will find that you are motivated to achieve them, and it also makes it easier to see how much progress you are making.

When teaching yourself to play the guitar you will have to refer to various learning materials. Up until fairly recently this would primarily consist of books, and perhaps a few magazines, or even videos. Today, though, there are far more options open to you. Thanks to the internet, there is an almost endless supply of new and exciting information on learning the guitar. This information is pretty easy to find – just do a Google search. You’re sure to find all the information you’ll need to start learning the guitar.

If you want a great resource to work from when teaching yourself guitar, you should consider Jamorama. We have reviewed this course for you here Jamorama

When teaching yourself guitar you should try to work as systematically as possible. To begin with you should tackle the basics before moving on to more advanced aspects of playing. You have to be patient. Don’t try and tackle too much at one time, as this will only hinder your progress.

One good thing about teaching yourself to play is that you’re not bound to the standard methods of learning. You can be as experimental and original as you like when it comes to thinking up ways of playing things, and this will lead to you having a very individual style, which will mark you out from other guitarists. A lot of the best guitarists in history taught themselves, and a large part of what makes them so great is the unique sound and style they’ve created, which is often a consequence of not having learnt in the conventional way. Having said that, it is always a good idea to learn proper technique as well, as this will make you a better and more diverse musician.

A lot of people find that, without a guitar tutor to encourage them, they struggle to keep disciplined when teaching themselves guitar. You need to ensure that you keep yourself motivated, and put in the practice. If you do it right, once you start to see progress this should be more than enough inspiration to continue, and work even harder. Above all else, you should make sure that you enjoy the process of teaching yourself guitar.

So that winds up this article about teaching yourself guitar. I hope that’s helped anyone thinking of teaching themselves guitar.

When learning the guitar, choosing whether to have lessons or not can be difficult. Many people would rather go it alone, and use books, or magazines to learn from. However, I feel it is a good idea to enlist the help of an experienced tutor, especially in the early stages, as this will ensure you learn the fundamentals correctly, and don’t develop bad habits. Having lessons, obviously, is going to cost more than learning on your own, but the long term benefits will outweigh the costs.

If you want to find out about an amazing learn guitar product then go to Jamorama

When it comes to guitar lessons, there are two sorts – private lessons, and group lessons. Group lessons normally cost less than private lessons, but they seem to be less popular. They can provide a more informal approach to learning, and interaction between group members can also aid the learning process. Private lessons do cost more money but, having the full attention of the teacher directed at just you for the entire lesson, means you will usually make more progress with this approach.

Many guitar tutors will be happy to come and teach you in your home, whereas others might request that you go to them. The ones who have to travel often charge more money. Another benefit of this is that often a teacher will have things like amplifiers and guitar effects set up in their studio for you to use, and they may have recording facilities to record your progress as well.

When it comes to actually finding a guitar teacher, I suggest you do a little bit of research, rather than just going with the first one you find. Try and discover what their teaching experience is. You should also enquire as to whether they have any formal qualifications, and whether they are able to teach all styles of guitar music. None of these things guarantee they’ll be a good teacher, but it should give a fairly good indication. Perhaps the most important thing is to choose a tutor whom you feel inspired by.

Different guitar teachers will charge different amounts for their services, depending on their experience. A world renowned guitar player may charge hundreds of dollars per hour, whereas a music student might only charge 20 dollars or so. In saying that, though, I would suggest that you go with the most experienced tutor your budget can stretch to.

That brings us to the end of this article on guitar lessons. I’ve hopefully helped you to make a more informed choice about whether or not you need them, and if so, how to go about finding them.

For some people, the idea of learning the guitar is scary one. There are certainly a lot of things you need to learn. Technique, theory, chords, scales, it’s a lot to take in and, regrettably, some people are put off altogether by what they see as an insurmountable task. The truth is however, that with the right guidance, learning the guitar isn’t nearly as difficult as some people think. Here I’ll address some of the most common problems people may face when learning the guitar and, hopefully show you, that it’s really not that hard.

Everybody starts learning the guitar for a different reason. Some people want to make it as a pro, and have a long and successful career. Some people want compose their own music and record their own CDs. A lot of people just want to be able to jam with their mates. It doesn’t matter what reasons you have though, I can guarantee that you will find the experience of leaning the guitar a challenging, enjoyable, and rewarding one.

To read a review of a great guitar learning product, take a look at Jamorama Review

Before you start leaning the guitar, you’ll first have to decide which type of guitar you want to play: acoustic or electric. The sort of music you most want to learn will normaly be the deciding factor here. Electric guitars can be a bit easier to play than acoustics due to their lighter strings, but they do require additional equipment, like leads and an amp. Acoustics have the advantage of being able to be played, and heard anywhere.

The next thing to decide on, after you chosen a guitar, is whether you want to take lessons from a tutor, or try and go it alone, using books and videos for guidance. It will cost money to hire a private tutor, but the benefits, like having someone guide you through every stage of learning, more than justify the cost. It’s less expensive to teach yourself, but there are dangers when doing this, such as learning things incorrectly, and developing bad playing habits.

Regardless of whether you chose to take lessons or go it alone, you’ll probably start by learning how to play chords.Guitar music is often nothing more than simply strumming chords. As soon as you can play a few chords in time, and change between them effortlessly, you’ll be able to play a surprisingly large repertoire of guitar music.

The key to becoming a good guitar player is, of course, practice. However, there is practice, and then there’s practice. If you practise incorrectly you can end up wasting a lot of time, whereas correct, effective, and efficient practice can drastically reduce your leaning time. You should always aim to play and practise things as cleanly and as accurately as possible. You should always use a metronome to make sure that you are playing in time.

That brings us to the end of this article. I hope you’ve found it informative, and maybe it’s inspired you to get practising.
