Each year people watch the American Music Awards to find out whether their favorite musical artists get the recognition the fans believe they deserve. There’s a whole lot more to the AMAs, this year being no different. The most dramatic moment was when Jennifer Lopez, affectionately known as J. Lo – fell at the AMAs.
Don’t start worrying; J. Lo’s fall wasn’t a Steven Tyler/Spinal Tap epic one. She didn’t get injured, but when J. Lo falls at the AMAs, it’s kind of a big a deal. Luckily, that which has made Lopez famous has not only made her rich and famous, but it also protects J. Lo falls on stage. So she is fine. She has an insurance policy on that which made her famous, so if she did get injured she won’t need quick personal loans.

However, Adam Lambert had a huge article in Rolling Stone, and the cover of his first album– which comes out today — has gotten tons of media attention. As if you didn’t notice: as a runner up, Adam Lambert is way more famous than the guy who actually won “American Idol” last year.
To continue his rise to uber-stardom, Adam Lambert’s AMA performance has gotten tons of attention. Granted, not all of the attention directed at Adam Lambert’s performance is positive, but that’s par for the course. American Music Award winners
In case you’re wondering who actually won at the American Music Awards, here’s the rundown of the big ones. Michael Jackson won four awards posthumously, winning Favorite Male Artist in pop/rock, and also for soul/rhythm and blues. His “Number Ones” compilation got both awards in those categories, as well.
The Black Eyed Peas won Favorite Band, Duo or Group in both of those categories. Rascal Flatts took that title in the country category. Jay-Z won all available titles in the rap/hip hop category, winning Favorite Male Artist and Favorite Album. Keith Urban won Favorite Male Artist for Country, and Beyonce won Favorite Female Artist for soul/R&B.
Taylor Swift had the biggest haul, taking home 5 awards including Favorite Female Artist for Pop/Rock, Country, and Adult Contemporary. She won Favorite Album in country for her album “Fearless” as well. And, of course, she won Artist of the Year.
